CANADIAN GOOSE FULL SPAN

All geese will spread their wings after coming up from the water to dry them off. They will also spread their wings to show how big they are to other geese.

This photo was captured at Hyatt Lakes Hidden Reserve in Boise, Idaho on a warm Spring day.

Gear used-
Canon EOS 5D Mark III, Canon 100-400MM L II
WARTHOG IN SNOW

This photo was captured at Boise Zoo in the winter of 2017. This Warthog was looking for his food in the snow.

I wanted to capture the detail in the Warthog's hair, so I used a rpo series Canon 100-400MM L II series lens.

I used a very neutral color tone for a realistic look

TOUCH DOWN

This scene was captured in the middle of the afternoon in Kathryn Albertson's park in Boise, Idaho.

You can see the Fall colors reflecting in the water from the background trees.

Capturing a flock of Geese in focus was done by using a telephoto lens and setting the camera to speed mode.

Glittering with Emerald Green (PROFILE LOOKING RIGHT)

In this photo, I wanted to represent the beautiful vibrant emerald greens that Male Mallards have on their head.

This was captured as a RAW file using a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and Canon 100-400MM L. The photo editing process was completed using Photoshop CC2017 at 100% zoom ratio.

VIBRANT MALE MALLARD (PROFILE LOOKING LEFT)

After doing in-field testing over and over, adjusting in camera settings, I decided to remove my UV/haze filter from the front of my telephoto lens. I wanted zero distortion using my Canon 100-400MM L series lens. I use B+W UV and polarized filters, but after this test, I will only use pure glass and no filter when shooting my wildlife scenes.
The true vibrancy, detail and sheer beauty gives this photo the "wow factor".

FEATHERY IMPRESSIONS

After preening, this female Mallard sat in the pond with her feathers ruffled, making it an artistic looking photo. Soft blue shaded water with gentle ripples flow behind her.

Photographed at a local park in Meridian, Idaho.

MALLARD IN FLIGHT

The Art of Photography

This photo was captured at Kathryn Albertson's park in Boise, Idaho.
This Mallard was taking off out of the water, so I started shooting a series of frames.

This photo and the above, would make a great paring.

PLUMP AND FLUFFY

This plump squirrel followed me around looking for food, but I think he already ate too much.
