BLUE HERON CAPTURING FISH

An amazing photograph captured in time. I sat down on the bank of the little pond at Hyate Lake Hidden Reserve in Boise. I captured a series of frames of this Great blue Heron eating his meal.

Using a 400MM telephoto lens I was able to zoom into the scene without disturbing the Heron.

CANADIAN GOOSE WING POSE

Two Canadian geese drying they're wings in the sun.
I was able to use a 400MM zoom lens to get in close on the wing spread of the front goose.

The detail in the wings is very nice and the foreground blur creates a photogenic scene.

PEEK-A-BOO GOOSE

This Canadian goose was walking thru the tall dried grass, allowing me to capture a soft photo.

Neutral tones from back to front looks very nice in this photo. Using a low F stop I was able to give the front grass and foreground a greater depth of field.

THREE AMIGOS

These three Canadian geese were peering into the water without a care in the world.

I used the yellow and orange colors of the rear grass reflecting into the water to my advantage creating a warm scene.

FLYING SHOVELERS

Talk about a funny looking duck. From every angle of this Shoveler's appearence you would think its a cartoon duck.

Never-the-less they are beautiful in flight to photograph.
With a pale blue sky the Shoveler's colors contrasted nicely.

IN-FLIGHT  SHOVELER DUCKS

It appears as if these ducks are twins, flying side by side in the sky without a care in the world.

You can see a hint of the surrounding Boise Mountains with their winter coat.

ROBIN WITH BERRY

A Robin sitting in a prickly bush with her morning meal, for her nearby fledglings.

The red berry against the neutral toned foreground works well together in this scene.
