BLACK-CROWNED CRANE

Photographed at the Boise, Idaho Zoo. This beautiful Black-Crowned Crane was a show stopper and he knew when he was bing photographed.

Using a telephoto lens is the best way to soften the background out.

CRANE STARE

This Crane was staring right at me as I photographed him at the zoo in Boise, Idaho.
Creating a colorful blurry background is actually quite easy.
Make sure your using a telephoto lens and get as close to your subject as possible, this creates more depth of field behind the subject.

WINTER, COOPER'S HAWK

This Hawk was photographed in Nampa, Idaho while insode a bird blind.
It was a cold winter's morn and the last thing I wanted to do was miss this shot.
I only had one oportunity and I nailed it.
As the Hawk peered over his shoulder I took the photo.

COLOR I GOT IT

A beautiful opportunity to photograph this rooster in full color at Kathryn Albertson park in Boise, Idaho.

My goal was to capture the stunning colors of the rooster's feathers and blurr out the background.

NEWHAMPSHIRE RED ROOSTER

Here was a fantastic opportunity to take a photo close up of this colorful rooster. I used a telephoto lens of 400MM and stopped the rooster in his tracks.

The green background played off nicely against his red feathers and head.

PEEK A BOO BUNNY

A little bunny hiding in the leaves at the park in Boise, Idaho. Kathryn Albertson can be a wonderful location to see many types of wildlife all through the seasons.

Over the years the bunnies have grown in population. The colors are brown, white, black and mixed.

BUNNY CLOSEUP

This bunny was staring at me in the park, so I thought why not snap a closeup photo.

Soft gray colors against the nuetral colored green back worked out beautiful for this photo.

BLUE HERON POSE

This was a lucky capture, as this Blue Heron was near myside at the park in Boise.

He was out for a morning food hunt and I think I startled him, as he froze in motion allowing me to capture this shot.

GRAZING DOE

Grazing in the mint, this little deer looked upwards at me as if to say, "Louis take a photo".

GRAZING EWE AND LAMB

As the sun began to sit upon the grass, the lamb and ewe turned a warm tinted color. This gave me the perfect opportunity to photograph them.

An overall sepia color overlay was used in post edit.
