LAKE OWYHEE REFLECTIONS

This photo was taken in a remote location on Lake Owyhee in Oregon only 45 minutes from Meridian, ID.

The water looks like glass, the skies a pale blue.
You will never come to this location and see the same scene twice. The seasons change as do the appearance.

SNIVELY HOT SPRINGS

Photographed around the upper part of the Owyhee River Canyon, Snively Hot Springs come out of the ground near the road at the Idaho Border.

The water is way too hot to measure with a 120-degree spa thermometer and also too hot to step in, until it blends with the river 300 feet away.

OWYHEE, SPRING REFLECTION

A summer's evening, a quiet location and landscape secenes to last forever. This location was photographed at Lake Owyhee Dam .

I wanted to capture the clouds relfecting into the lake and the distant light on the Owyhee mountains.
Using a telephoto lens and a polarizer, I was able to convey my visions.

ROOTED

Along the dusty dirt road to Succor Creek State Park, you will see many varieties of scrub bushes and trees.

This particular root structure was interesting to me, so I used a tripod and standard zoom lens to show the details in the roots and bush keeping my gear steady.

Keep the detail high, but the scene simple.

SUCCOR CREEK CANYON

A very rough looking canyon indeed. Succor Creek State Park is for the outdoors person with out a doubt.
Being careful is an understatement as the rocks are loose and the distance down is great.

This was a hard photo to capture due to the details
all throughout the canyon. Keeping it simple was a
challenge.

SMITH ROCK

Visit Bend Oregon and you will see spectacular Smith Rock , a climbers paradise... and beautiful trails.

I wanted to photograph Smith Rock with as much detail as possible and still show the soft skies in the foreground.

SMITH ROCK, CLOUD MOTION BLUR

A perfect opportunity to photograph Smith Rock, in Bend Oregon with a motion blur long exposure effect.

In the rocks you can see several different colors of reds, yellows and oranges.
Dynamic lighting brought life and color to the rock face.

ROCK FACES

Yet another portion of Smith Rock are these nearby rock faces surrounding the Crooked river.

When you visit you will see climbers from top to bottom and loads of people along the dusty trails.

Different perspectives are fun to photograph, so get down low to the ground and try different viewpoints.

OWYHEE'S POISON CREEK

Found outside a little town called Marsing, Idaho.
These desert rolling hills looked interesting and with the clouds hanging over it gave an eary look.

The road to this location is called "Poison Creek"
